Could've been nine, but Demp didn’t feel like playing along. He was, though, on the receiving end of a rare bout of run support throughout his 6.1 innings, in which he gave up four runs, eight hits and two walks. Meh. Tonight's story was offense, though the 'pen once again stifled the Pirates (my second favorite team in baseball).
Subbing for a gam-tightened MB after the 1st, Hoffy hit the only Cubs home run in tonight''s game. Rami, Geo & Fuke all had two ribbies, while the Riot & D-Lee all had two hits and Jeff had three. You know what? I'm gonna save some time here. Everybody who wasn’t on the mound had a hit. Who are these guys???
Geo lit the joint up tonight - toking two walks and smoking one double to deep right to roll in two ribbies.
The bad news:
- Reeeeeeeed's foot isn't "heeling" well and he may be out for the rest of the season.
- Even if the Foul Fowl loses tonight (currently down but the Brewers really, really suck - like us times ten suck), we're still out of the race in the double digits.

KD, that reminds me of a pre-deployment meeting we had to attend once. Our medical corpsman girl was giving us a lecture on std's and was too embarrassed to say "penis" so she called it a "penes"...lmao

I think they've all but SAID they're shutting him down for the season. They seem to be skirting around this surgery thing, which makes no sense to me because 1) if he needs it, I would think the sooner the better for next season, and 2) I thought the MRI showed nothing wrong?
