There have been a handful of games this season that the Cubs undoubtedly should've won, but instead lost - perhaps it was an error, a bad baserunning move, a blown save (okay, more than a handful of those)…and after each time I stewed angrily on my couch, contemplating the uncontrollable fury that would boil out of me (messy…) if the Cubs ended up losing the division by one or two games.
It looks like that's not going to be an issue, after all.
Rami hit a two-run homer and an RBI single. D-Lee hit a solo homer (and got screwed on a bad call while scoring what should have been the game-tying run). That was good. The rest, not so much, including a failed bunt attempt (?) from MB in the first inning, which - you guessed it! - got him booed. Not because he's a Major Leaguer who can't lay down a bunt in a situation that he shouldn’t have even been bunting in…but because today was Racist Waiter Day at Wrigley. Thankfully he didn’t tie it up in the ninth so he only had to suffer through the regulation nine. (Like the rest of us.)

Ugh...I see we have nothing to celebrate. Losing 2 of 3 to the Nats, is that the new low? Me thinks it may be....I hate the 2009Cubs.
Ha! "racist waiter day at Wrigley" That must be every day, according to 'ol Milty assbag.
Those of you that are cat owners may appreciate the pic I posted on Cubssalad.
Seriously, Miltie does need to shut the fuck up. I was just starting to like him and he had to go act a fool...tsk tsk Miltie.
For real, KD. I feel like I've spent all season defending his sorry ass and it's like he's gone out of his way to prove all his haters right ON EVERY DAMN POINT. I'm done. He's exhausting. And beyong crazy.
As a licensed mental health professional, I concur with your diagnosis Jen. But actually, the full name for his condition is Bat Shit Crazy. And there's no cure, sadly.
LMAO! Oh excuse me, I certainly didn't mean to diminish his condition! (Or type "beyong" instead of "beyond" - why can't we edit our comments?!)
beyong sounds like one of our word verif's. :)
CRISIS! CRISIS! CRISIS!
Rich got claimed off waivers??? WTF???
Heilman did too, but who gives a shit.
OMG...me no likey. Where have you gone Rich? Your ass looks best in blue.
Ok, I'm slightly less panicky now:
The Cubs will have until Monday to work out trades, allow Harden and Heilman to depart on claims, or pull them back them from waivers. Harden is 3-1 with a 1.80 ERA in eight starts since the All-Star break.
Oh yes, don't freak out yet - your beloved Heilman (heh) may not be going anywhere. BB mentioned it earlier today and said fans would be surprised just how many "big names" (again, Heilman - heh) clear waivers every year.
I hope Smirky McSweetCheeks doesn't go anywhere before the end of this season. It'd be nice if the Cubs could work out a favorable deal for next year too...but since he's so injury prone, let's hope the key word is "favorable". His ass isn't much to look at if it's on the DL.
Okay, okay. His ass is ALWAYS something to look at.
If the Cubs lost smirky McCutie pants I will have one less reason to watch the rest of this sorry-assed season.
Hi ladies.....anyone need a drink or some painkillers? I'm stocked up on those....lol.
I had a feeling that the Nat's would beat us or that we would beat ourselves, whichever is less painful.
I'm still trying so hard to hold onto the last thread of hope that we somehow salvage the rest of the season.
As for MB, yeah, what was up with that so called "bunt"....damn, at this point with him I think I would much rather see Miles on the field than MB, at least Miles won't run his mouth.
Glad to see you are alive Blue. We all need pain killers for this season. Do you have enough for 1,000,000 Cubs fans?
