Another day, another replay, another loss

Welllll…THANK GOODNESS THEY DIDN'T CALL IT A HOME RUN. Then we wouldn't have gotten these extra three innings of disappointment.

Tough no-decision for He of Perfect Glutes and Never-Ending Smirk, whose game - much like his glutes - was perfect until the 6th and only allowed two hits - unfortunately one being a game-tying homer. The real tragedy, of course, came from the bullpen. Specifically Marm, who…walked the leadoff batter, hit another, walked another…AND WALKED ANOTHER to give the Phillies the lead in the 8th and had to be bailed out by New Guy Grabow. Yeah. It really sucked. UNTIL a certain right-fielder, who's becoming more charming every day as his offense & defense is rocking (for real, I attached proof - THREE great catches from MB), knocks in Riot to tie the game and send us into extras - because the Cubs really wanted to watch the meteor shower. Except for Gloggs, who - after a quick 11th - came back to the 12th and gave up a leadoff and game-winning home run. (The Guz was perfect in his two innings, however, so um, that's good.)

I'm still putting this one on the offense, however, for continuing to put the same amount of pressure on the pitching staff as Prince Fielder puts on the increasingly wobbly dugout benches. After taking their show on the road, the offense came home with the same old schtick of outhitting their opponents and still losing - the Cubs with 10 hits tonight and the Phillies with 3. And yet the score was 4-3.

What a bummer this game was. Speaking of bummers, Rami's rumored to be able to return Thursday (but more likely Friday) after he received a cortisone shot this morning. (At least I think. He was shirtless in the interview so I was preoccupied.)

Rami? Shirtless? What????

I know, I know. But again they teased with only his shoulders. There was a split second when they moved their microphones away that I thought I saw a glorious pec...or maybe it was Carrie Muskat's elbow.

OMG, saw the video w/the shoulder tease. I sooooo wanna hear him say the word "inflammation" again. SO adorable!!!

Rami? Shirtless?? Where??? Oh Jen you rotten tease! You mention Rami shirtless and then don't include a photo - what a cold hearted woman you are!!! Damn Carrie Muskat and her lucky elbow.....Actually I'm gonna say she's about the luckiest bitch in the world. "How was work today honey?" "Well dear as usual I stood in the Cubs clubhouse and tried to ignore their half nakedness and talked about baseball. Oh yeah and John Cusack, one of my most favorite actors in the whole world, was there and he stopped in for a guest shower - you know, same old same old. How was your day?" Skank.

Anyway my computer is the equivalent of those old ass cell phones that were almost as big as a toaster so I'm not even going to try to find a video of it. Like I have 15 hours to wait for it to download! So I'll just have to let the pictures in my head keep running........

Oh Rami you trouble maker, give Sweet Ass Rich his towel back - oh wait what am I saying? Throw that f'in towel out! Did you guys forget it's no towels or clothes for hot guys week? Yes Reed I do think a full body massage will make me feel better but why do you have all those clothes on.....oh shit was I talking out loud? Oh uh nevermind....

So....Crappy game huh?

word veriff sammackk - as in who else thought Lou was gonna sammackk that reporter tonight? Hee hee.....

Jen said...

Ha! Love the word verif. I admit, this shouldered Rami caught me with my pants down (if only!) so I didn't get a screencap but I still offer you one of the old ones: http://www.cubblogging.com/2007/05/shirtless-rami-for-girls.html

I know KD, Rami's accent MAKES ME MELT. And other things. Damn, why wasn't I TiVo-ing that!

As for the other 24 of you - well, 23 'cause MB was pretty awesome - no, 22 'cause Rich had a freaking perfect game up to the 6th. And Jeff Baker had four hits. But the other 21 guys? GFY.

I am super bummed that I will not be able to watch the Shark debut as a starter tonight. No, instead I will be at Busch Stadium watching the Cards and Reds (WTF????).

Msg to Shark: if you do real good you just might get to make a guest appearance in our hot tub. Just sayin.....

Oh, and IHDR? You crack me the hell up! ;)

Jen said...

IHDR, you make a good point. Actually several, but since I'm working and can't afford a Rami/Rich/Reed foursome fantasy I just have to echo that Carrie Muskat is one lucky skank bitch and I bet she doesn't even fully appreciate it. PAID to interview semi-nude to nude buff professional athletes after their showers.

An on that note, KD, SportsNite also had a shirtless Gloggles shoulder interview. Unlike his pitching, it didn't disappoint.

lol....You girls crack me up.
Tonight's game is on tv....finally, it seems like it's been a long time since I've seen the Cubbies on the tube.
Here is a thought for you....if.....IF we don't make the playoffs or it appears that we won't, should the team sit Rami, let him heal and what not and get him ready for next season?

KD said...

Shirtless Gloggs? What? Where?

We are sick, sick women, aren't we?

ClaireBaby Designs said...

No offense to Gloggs but I doubt his shirtless interview would do much for me. And KD we are not sick, sick women, we are just, uh, enthusiastic ( ie horny) supporters of (super hot) Chicago Cubs (sexy ass) baseball players and we just want them to be comfortable (naked). That's all. Jeez you make us sound like pervs. And I'm pretty sure that not a one of us has a Cardinals porn stache - so that means we can't be pervs!

KD said...

LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!

The image of a shirtless Rami and a shirtless Gloggs is whats getting me through the day today.....

Blue, I wouldn't be surprised if Rami has surgery in the offseason. But I wouldn't sit him until we are nearly mathmatically eliminated or doctors said it would cause further damage. There's still 7 weeks and if these holes have proven anything, it's that they need him. I fully expect him to be the key ingredient in the sweep next month in STL. ;)

KD - his shoulders were too broad to fit on the entire TV screen. TOO BROAD.

"No your Honor, we have NO 'staches! So you see, it couldn't possibly have been us lurking in the clubhouse showers w/ choloform & rope."

KD said...

mmmmm...broad shoulders...

Ahhh...love Mama Fuld's little site. Quite the accomplished family! Wow. And Sam is quite the cutie... :)

The Cubbies have to win tonight, no more bs losses.
I feel the Shark will pitch well as long as he keeps cool and calm.
Our offense needs to get to Pedro early, rattle him up, then go for the jugular.
I hope to see better umpiring than I just witnessed in the Giants/Dodgers game, so many bad calls. I think the Umps were Dodgers fans.
Go Cubs Go.....Cubs 8-2 win.
