I'm about to say something I haven’t said all year long (which eliminates a large number of badly chosen sexual innuendos) and announce how proud of the Cubs I am right now, after they took three games from the fatter part of Wisconsin and would have had the opportunity for a four-game sweep if not for a pitching implosion on Saturday (this is what happens when you have a Canadian start on the Fourth of July). But today's game put the Brewers back in their place (currently second, soon to be third) with an outstanding Ted (no surprise) and plenty of offense, including two hits from Fuke (including a triple - STUD), Riot, D-Lee (including his 15th home run - STUD), Foxy (a double and a home run - STUD) and Fonzy & Fun-Size (let's face it, some surprise). Geo was hitless, but did have a sac fly for one of today's eight runs. MB only had one hit, but he also took today's only walk. And the bullpen took over Ted's outstanding-ness, holding the Brewers offense to their measly two runs. This should give them something to think (whine) about until we meet again in September.
I've got to go with the All-Star for a couple of reasons. He had nine strikeouts today, allowed no free passes and gave up a mere two runs in his eighth win. That, and I've got to give D-Lee (and myself) a rest from my constant um…let's go with "devotion".
All looks Wells
Red, white and [Cubbie] blue in Peoria: I celebrated our nation's independence with all things American: baseball, beer and low explosive pyrotechnics. While enjoying my certain unalienable rights: life, liberty and the pursuit of a penis (see what I did there?) - I took advantage of my freedom to violate a couple of our favorite Cubs' privacy while they were down in Peoria…because while 233 years ago our nation declared all men (mandatory eye roll at the 18th century not-so-inclusive gender inclusive) are created equal - once they have a Major League contract they are elevated above the rest of us to be adored and worshipped. Enjoy more pics here, if you truly have nothing better to do and/or are obsessed with Rami, Reeeed, minor league baseball or the Zooperstars.
Um, you're half right.
Oh, to be that microphone.
The rain limited Reeeed to only a pinch hit appearance, which is great because I was really hoping to see more of uh, whoever it was instead.
And that same rain had them DH-ing Rami. Mmmmm, stretchy.
Notice on the end - Rami's "The Thinker" pose. The man is a work of art, people.
Rami's walkup song was Soulja Boy's "Turn My Swag On". I know you think I'm going to turn that into some sort of a sexually depraved pun but I'll have you know I'm above that.
Zooperstars "Harry Canary". Yup, it's a circus...but they serve beer.
Apparently even Single-A has roomier dugouts than the Chicago Cubs.

What a kick ass performance all the way around.
It was good to see the team keep it together after losing big yesterday.
It appears that we will be sitting good at the break, then it's really on.....take no prisoners!
GO CUBS!!!!!!!
A very nice weekend!! Nice to see the Cubs being all we know they could be!!
!!!
Quote from ol' Bug Eyes himself says it all:
They threw the ball a lot better than our starters did. They certainly swung the bats better than we did as well. CLEARLY THEY WERE THE BETTER TEAM.
Oh, yesterday's game was AWESOME!!! A wonderful, beautiful TEDDAY to be at the park!!! It was perfect weather and the boys were in top form. LOVE seeing them play like that. So glad I didn't go to the game on Sat, that would have been miserable! LOL
A glimmer of hope?
mmmmm I love that picture of Reed. Oh how I would have loved to be there to root him on. (by root I mean rub his sore muscles while he lay naked)
word verif: dismante
The Cubs certainly dismante the fat ass brewers this weekend.
Kat, we must have the same dictionary!
Jmarhar, hmmmm...maybe you're good luck for our boys. Should we pool our money together to get you a season ticket?
Anyone have any bold predictions on the roster moves that will be made for Rami, Reed and Angel's return?
Jen, I think that SAM FULD, Jeff the Shark and one other pitcher will be sent back down to the farm.
Hmmm....Kevin Hart maybe? It's a hard decision. I've heard lots of interesting suggestions - including putting Fonzy on the DL for anxiety! :D
Also just in - Ryan Freel traded to the Royals - do we still get to keep Farney?!?

I would LOVE a season ticket!!! =)
As for the roster moves, I don't know how we can get rid of Foxy Jake, so I think as long as his bat is hot we'll keep him up. And I'd feel bad if we sent Fuld down, he's doin so good... but who knows... it will be very interesting to see what they decide. Saw we just traded Freel, not that he did much for us anyway. I just am so excited Rami is back I think I might pee.
Pee!!! LMAO. I too am struggling with bladder control for today's excitement.
There's no way they could be stupid enough to send Foxy down...right? (She asks with fear, as she remembers the many stupid decisions made thus far.)
Farewell Freel, we hardly knew ye or...Farney.
You guys crack me up...lol
If we send down Jake Fox, I'm going to snap!
I wonder if Farney will come to the chatterbox now that Freel is gone?
Word veri - "shotyll" Hey Brewers, we shot y'll up! Now let's go pound on the Braves.
I'm hoping for Hart, Fuld, and dumping Powder back to Colorado instead of taking up wasted space in the pen. Does dumping Freel open up a spot? 'cause I thought he was already either on the DL or in Iowa. And this Baker dude...can't we get rid of him too since I still don't have a clue why he's here in the first place? Somebody give Lou my number so we can discuss...
well its official: Optioned Hart and Fuld and put Patton on the DL... I'm just glad they didn't send down Fox!
Well that's cool, I hate to see Fuld go, but Fox really needs to stay.
Woohoo! Foxy stays! I hate to see Sam go too but I had a feeling he might be the odd man out with Reed coming back (who has been known to wow us with his defense a time or two as well...) I'm sure we'll see him back in September at least.
LOVE the pics Jen! And SO glad Rami, Reeeed and Guzman are back!!!
