Fuld, Sam Fuld.

September 2007/Spring Training Fav Sam Fuld, doing more in leadoff than we've seen in forrrevvver, with a double. And doing more defense than we've seen in forrrevvver too, with a crazy good outfield assist and an equally good (but not as crazy) sliding catch. And besides the leadoff double, he also had a walk and a single tonight too. Plus you could just fit him in your pocket.

Randy WWWells is making up for lost wins, racking up another one tonight in his seven innings - allowing only one run on six hits. Marm & Gregg finished it up exactly how they should - no hits (except for Marm's one that plunked the batter), no walks and most importantly, NO RUNS.

Home runs from D-Lee & Fuke (also with a double) and a triple from Geo (also with a single) in tonight's four runs - along with MB's two walks, Andy White had one also, Foxy with a hit - while the Riot had a couple tonight too.

And Lou? He's not going to be winning the umpires' favorite manager polls any time soon either, with an well-earned ejection tonight on a shamefully bad call.

Sam Fuld! Tonight was only a mere glimpse at what he has to offer. He can fight, shoot, drink, make love, drive fast cars, ride motorcycles, fly airplanes, helicopters, and even the space shuttle. He can defuse missiles and bombs of all varieties, including nuclear. Throw him out of an airplane without a parachute, he doesn't panic, but calmly surveys his options and then proceeds to survive, as he did at the beginning of Moonraker, by forming his body into an arrow and flying himself into the parachute-wearing villain, wrestling the parachute away, then strapping it on himself and deploying it in time to drift gently and safely down to Earth.

Can I just throw it out there - undefeated in the month of July? (I know it's a little hacky but the way things are going I may only be able to do it tonight.)

If I may direct your peepers to the Rami countdown, you'll see we are officially marked for Monday 7:05 pm. In addition, the highlight of Central Illinois is no longer scary, albeit intricate, corn mazes but instead a weekend sneak peek of "the reluctant savior" as Rami's rehabbing in Peoria. And believe me when I say I'll be there with bells on. (Bells = gratuitous cleavage.)

FAT.

SAM FULD!!

I, too, was a BIG fan of his at Spring Training a couple years ago. SO glad he's making the most of his call up so far! Keep it up!

Jen, you MUST take copious amounts of pictures of Rami this weekend. You know, for um, research purposes and stuff.

Have fun!

Won't be much blogging for me this weekend kids (awww, I know you're totally sad). I'll be in Dallas visiting my baby niece and prolly won't be near the computer much.

Happy 4th to all my favorite Cub bloggers!

(and may we at the VERY least, get a split this weekend). GO CUBS GO!

SAM FULD!! was super nice at spring training too. (Note that super nice translates into actual acknowledgement and throwing us a ball.)

Awww, have fun with your baby niece! Don't worry, I will have oodles of Rami pics waiting for you when you get back.

Please, please, please let the offense be alive for this series.

I hope you are right Carnac! One good thing about playing the Brewers, at least I have TV coverage. No coverage last night, but I saw the SAM FULD! throw out on the highlights, and man, that was purty! Lou - maybe Sorryano should sit a little longer? (the entire Brewer series perhaps?)

I don't know you Carnac, but I like your way of thinking! GO CUBBIES!

Oh a sweep...don't tease me so.

Hopefully Fonzy took a hint on what should be happening out there - both in left field and at the plate. Somehow I bet he'll be out there tonight, though I hope Lou can squeeze SAM FULD!! in somewhere.

KD - your new avatar is so cute!

Thanks Jen! It's from this past weekend...what you can't see is that I'm posing with four different sangrias in the background...yes, KD was a LITTLE BIT intoxicated..... :)

Could Sam Fuld be the long awaited spark we needed? I hope we see more of that.
This could be the start of our turn around, we are still in the mix, so that is good thing.

LOL KD! I LOVE sangria...and the only (and I mean ONLY) time I can take a decent picture is when I'm drunk (I guess it makes me unspaz or something) so it sounds like a good combo to me.

Blue, you sound just like me. Every time the Cubs win a game or manage to not look so damn pathetic, I think it's the beginning of turnaround. Let's hope!
