Coincidence? I think not.

He's baaaaack. An anticlimactic return for Rami (though climatic for me, she says, with a sleazy smile akin to the Stifler oeuvre) in his 0-4 evening. BUT, even his mere presence can make for a Cubs win, as everyone else - including Randy - had a hit and/or a walk. This includes D-Lee's 16th home run (he can't be stopped and if you try to stop him, I'll punch you in the throat), Fuke's two hits & and a walk, doubles from those two - plus a couple from Fonzy & Geo too and two walks from MB. Rami - a muse? An angel? An anthropomorphic (and hot) rabbit's foot? You decide.

Sean, the Marm & Gloggles combined for a three innings of anti-suck, allowing no runs to give Randy his 4th win, Marm's 18th hold and Gloggles 15th save.

I keep waiting for Randy Wells to fall from grace but despite not having a Marquisesque record (really?), it's July and he's still wowing us - tonight holding the Braves to two runs in his six innings. I'm thisclose to marketing some unlicensed "Randy makes me randy" baby tees.

D-Lee-ightfully hot for Demp's sixth win.

No TV coverage for me - again. So I missed the Return of Rami. :-(

I will join you in kicking the ass of anyone that tries to stop D-Lee. I got my bag-o-nickles ready!

Saw Randy's post-game interview and he is adorable!! So I guess not only does he make the hottub, but he gets his own t-shirt and dirty saying.

Oh JJ poor you. The coverage of Rami was astoundingly amassed, of course, due to his return. It's like the cameramen are lustfully in love with him too.

I loved the win & the all out TEAMWORK by the Cubs last night.

Farney & that other guy...oh yeah, Freel, are gone to KC. Isn't that where players go to die?

Mmmm...Rami looked GOOD last night!!!! I was lucky enough to catch the Sat and Sun games while in Texas...saw the ass whooping that was taking 3 of 4 from the Fatties. I LOVE IT!

Seriously, the feel of last nights game with Rami back was just...amazing, wasn't it? The crowd was so into it and you just felt like they were gonna win. Kinda like last season. I sure hope it lasts!!!!!!!

LMAO Kat! It's a sad truth. Another weird coincidence (or not?) as I am in KC RIGHT NOW...should I go stake out the airport and wait for Freel to arrive? Or should I just forget he and his little inner head midget ever existed, 'cause they pretty much didn't in a Cubs uni?

JJ, she's right - ESPN was ALL OVER Rami. I just about lost it (it = the one strand of of self control keeping me from tonguing the hotel TV) when they showed him all a'pouty for like five minutes over the intentional walk to get him up to the plate.

Yay, KD's back! Hmmmm...at the same time as Rami...yet another not-so-coincidence?

Oh Jen, I saw the pout at the intentional walk and I nearly jumped through my parents TV screen. SO adorable!!!!

I know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wish I'd Tivo'd it back home to pour over obsessively but instead I did the CSN feed which um, was too busy listening to Erik Estrada talk about child pornography at the time.... :(

Ya'll are too funny...lol.
The game was great, it's good to see Randy Wells go out there and get the job done.
And to not see our bullpen falter was tops.
DLee is still kicking ass and taking names, so whoever stands in our way of a post season appearance better standby.

Here is some Ted Lilly from the local paper.

AGH! I LOVE TED!

"Maybe we'll win so the Cubs can get some home-field advantage in the World Series."

Awesome link Blue, thanks soooooo much!

Your welcome Jen.
You gotta love his attitude.....Ted Rocks!!!!

This just in, DeRo going to the DL. While I hate to hear that for him, me is happy and laughing maniacally (sp??) because of what that means to the Dirty Birds...

Oh, and were you aware the dirty birds are playing the Fatties tonight? I think I'll be doing some channel flipping. I suppose we need to cheer for the Fatties in this one...at least until the Cubs secure 1st place....

Hey KD, don't the folks in St. Louis ever question whether or not Pujols is juicing up or not?
I was just wondering what they think of him there.

KD said...

Blue...NO ONE here questions Pujols. He is second only to God in these parts (and for some may even be first). My dad, brother and I actually had a conversation about the possibility of Pujols juicing and I think we all agreed that if it ever came out that he did, all our hearts will be broken. Yes, I hate the Dirty Birds, but even I have to admit, Pujols is amazing. Dammit.

Blue said...

So whatever happened to McGwire? Did he just disappear of the face of the Earth so we don't see how little he got?

KD said...

LOL...ever since McGuire wussed out and refused to admit he was a juicer, he left town. I hear he's in California somewhere, but Busch Stadium STILL has that stupid Big Mac Land..... :)

The only thing worse than juicing is lying about juicing even when everyone else in the world knows you're guilty. Shame shame, Mark McGuire....

Blue said...

I'm sure he won't be making any public appearances.
Maybe he's hanging out with Barry Bonds.

Jen said...

My $0.02...I think that Albert Pujols is an amazing ballplayer, an even more amazing human being...but there is not a single doubt in my mind that he is a juicer - when you compare his rookie pics to now, he makes the Bonds transformation barely noticeable. But KD is right, it's sacrilege to even suggest it within a 300 mile radius of STL.

DeRo on the DL...but so is Demp, who apparently fractured his toe in a postgame celebration coming out of the dugout! Word is Z to start tonight, Hart tomorrow...

KD said...

LOL...I didn't hear about Demp! I don't mean to laugh, I mean, a starting pitcher on the DL sucks, but damn that's funny! No more monkey business in the clubhouse boys!!!

Oh Demp, why? Is this one of those "non-baseball-related injuries"?
