Definitely not the A-Team.

Maybe the Red Hat Society.

Eight runs! Theriot hits three doubles, Milton Bradley has four ribbies, even Geo and Farney chipped in and we still lose the game!? I'd like to say I'm at a loss of words but there's actually still plenty of words to describe this - and most of them can be a noun or a verb. I guess in a way the offense had it coming, but it was the pitching that let us down tonight. Dempster was just plain dumpstery tonight - giving up six runs, more than likely a side effect of the Red No. 4 dye soaking into his skull from wearing those ugly ass Cardsly hats. Jose Ascanio & David Patton pitched scoreless innings (though not without their worrisome moments) but Neal Cotts & Aaron Heilman ensured that the Cubs bullpen was indeed, still a pile of suck. Worse yet we are down a Marm, as the go-to man is out of town until Wednesday for the birth of his baby. (Can't you knock a girl up in the spring, man?)

Dudes (and dudettes), we just lost our eighth game in a row TO THE PIRATES. I wasn’t sure where rock bottom was but I think we just found it.

A lot of rain and a lot of Sean Marshall makes for a win…or at least a wet t-shirt contest.

If the Cubs don't get a win soon, like tonight, there is going to be a run on Xanax, Prozac, and guns.

Video of Lilly getting tossed is on Cubs.com

Heehee, Ted quote: "I don't think I was very mean..."Sadly, the ONLY thing to smile about. I just can't even believe these past eight games - it'd be almost comical if I didn't worry about how we're going to look in September.

LOVE Ted.
Rock bottom sucks.
I'm swimming in Cubs misery.
Happy Birthday Jen! May the Cubbies (finally) win for you today. :)

Oh thanks, "happy" is relative today though - stinking Cubs!

Got tickets to tomorrow's game for post-birthday celebrations but my question is...are the Cubs going to do anything worth watching or do I need to bring a book?

bring a book and a fifth of your favorite liquor.....

It was good to see our Cubbies finally score some runs, but to still go on and lose the game to the freaking Pirates...damn!
Well at least Mr. T was entertaining.
Happy Birthday Jen! I say the Cubs will win for you today.

Aw, thanks again guys. A win is really all I ask for. Well that...and a miracle recovery time for Aramis's shoulder.

Jen, I'm sure you'd like to have our fantasy hot tub re-opened as well for your birthday. Boys, the only way to get yourselves back into the hot tub is to like win and stuff. Ted, due to his badassness from last night, will be there. Will the rest of you???

Jen said...

Oh yes please! Birthday cake and birthday suits for everyone! Ted owns the hot tub - in fact, I think we can just call it the Ted Tub.
