Ding, dong, Neal Cotts is dead! But who the hell decided to drop the house on BOBBY SCALES! too? And Aaron Miles is on the DL? (It isn’t by any chance related to any dental work, is it?) What a girl misses while riding the rails! But what Amtrak lacks in links to the outside world, it makes up for with nonjudgmental 10:00 am hops on the way to game day. The change of events did make room for some fresh meat, such as Foxy Jake and Andres Blanco, both with RBI doubles in the very presence of yours truly. But you know what's even better than an RBI double? An RBI triple, like the one Milty delivered in the first inning! The White Knight of Wrigleyville, however, was most definitely a Johnson of the largest kind, as Reed's tiebreaking home run was worth every drop of beer that was spilt in celebration.
I didn’t have the best vantage point for Big Z's ejection but I did overhear an usher call Z a "dummy" which I think should result in him being stripped of his ushering duties and forced to be the guy that changes the urinal cakes. I'm looking forward to watching the spectacle on Tivo and sharing my righteous indignation on the call as well. I might even break my own Gatorade machine!
Greggers not only notched his seventh save today but he also notched a place in my
All in all, first row seats are choice - however, they're generally in the area populated by season ticket holding fuddy duddies who bring homemade trail mix (and don't even offer to share). Meh! But Mr. Jen was fist-bumped (fisted?) by Matt Sinatro and I snagged a wink from his coachliness as well, so that was pretty much the biggest moment of our entire existence.
Some blurry, out-of-focus, possibly inappropriate pics to come tomorrow.
CUBS WIN...again!

I am SOOOOOO jealous of Mr. Jen's fist bumping experience & you're drooling over the players.
Great win.
Word Verif: peteddi does this mean i get to pet him?
Ha ha! Kat gets to pet Ted! LOVE IT!
Jen, so glad you guys had fun....love the Sinatro fist bump! Good times!!!!
Glad Gregg warmed your pants, er, um, I mean your heart. I luvs him too. ;)
Video of Z's ejection.

Personally I think Morgan got his hand in before Z made the tag so the umpire made the right call.
(don't stone me yet Cub Bloggers)
The ump bumped Z!!! Z brushed him off! Absolutely no suspension should be handed out. The umpire initiated contact. If a suspension is handed out it should go to the umpire.
Kat, you're right....dude was safe. Don't come hunt me down and kill me Z! As for the other issue, true story-the ump initiated contact, end of story. Big Z may not be 100% innocent, but in this case....other dude started it. Z just finished it......
Just watched the video (thanks for the link!) and I got to say, I think he made the right call (very close though). WE TELL NO ONE of this discussion...or else we'll be petting Teddy with broken fingers.
One of the more entertaining ejections (specifically Z gesturing ejecting the ump) but not looking forward to a suspension...even though the ump was totally baiting him, if that contact doesn't get him suspended (which it SHOULDN'T) then maybe for the subsequent events.
I don't really have anything to add other than my word verif is "wizesses" as in "we's a bunch of wizesses". No? Hello? Is anyone out there?
Ok, I have to agree that the Ump made the right the call as well......shhhhh.
Now, Big Z should not get suspended, so hopefully the powers that be will see that he did not make initial contact with the ump.
As for a win streak, that would be great to see, but the Dodgers will be tough, they are playing great even with Mannywood, so I hope we can at least split the series or go 3-1 in it.
KD, hornitas, wizesses, we are women of many labels.
Blue, those Dodgers are so freaking annoying. I think I heard their record is actually better since Manny got suspended. Is there any justice?
Speaking of justice, Big Z's proof: http://blogs.chicagotribune.com/news_columnists_ezorn/2009/05/solid-as-a-brick-the-ump-bumped-big-z.html
Jen, the Dodgers do have a better record without Manny, I figured they would fall apart without him, but that has not been the case.
Did you happen to see Lou's postgame interview? I think that he found Z's meltdown very humorous....lol. I can't remember his exact words, but he did say that Z needs to settle down, calm down or something to that effect, of course he was smiling and laughing at the same time.
Six games suspension for Big Z, no appeal. Not so funny now.
Well Big Z will miss at least one start during his suspension, but the Cubs will miss having him available as a pinch hitter during that time, not what they needed with the Dodgers in town.
