Koh-Skay, Foo-Koo-Dough-May (It's not that difficult...)

Better stay off the roads tonight too…LaRussa might be out drowning his sorrows.

So I'm out for my morning jog around the lake passing one of the marina's finest fisherman with his can of beer at 8:00 am, wearing a Cardinals hat and a smile consisting of maybe 16 teeth, who sees my Cubs sweatshirt and says, "Woohooooooo girly, you got your butt kicked last night." It took me a minute to figure out if I was going to have to pull the trigger on my pepper spray and when it finally registered what he was referring to, I wish I'd done just that.

Ted Lilly really came through in a pinch today with seven strong innings, much needed after our bullpen was depleted last night. And if that wasn't enough, Ted… …even doubled in the seventh, scoring on Soriano's! We're slowly working those bad habits from the AL out of him and getting him to use the bat. Marmol came in and finished the job with that Marmol-magic he does so well. Have I mentioned I love Carlos Marmol lately?

Fonte-yes (Again!): That Mike Fontenot shouldn’t surprise me anymore but every time he sneaks in that power, I am happily astonished.

Rami's wrist kept him out today but we got a couple of glimpses of him cheering in the dugout (the few times they pried the camera out of the Cardinals' dugout that is!) Hopefully he'll be back in action tomorrow night, looking for payback.

Do Joe Buck and Tim McCarver actually get paid? What I mean is, does someone actually compensate them monetarily for their mindless and oft-mistaken "commentary"? And is this someone mentally ill? Hey morons, you even put the pronunciation of Kosuke's Fukudome up on the monitor and still pronounced it incorrectly. I guess it's asking too much for Fox to have their sports announcers correctly pronounce the name of one of the hottest athletes in the league at the moment? Tomorrow's game is on ESPN and while normally I'm disappointed any time I don't have Len and Bob, anything is a welcome change from Buck and McCarver.

Rich Hill's going down to AAA for a bit to work out some of the command issues he's having. I think this will be good for him and get us back the strikeout stunner he's fully capable of being.

Good day for Lilly. Good day for the Cubs. All Cubs baseball should be on WGN-TV. Nothing else.
