My kind of game! Today marked the 17th win for the month of April which is a franchise record! Congrats Cubbies!!! These guys can definitely be proud of a strong start of 2008. I'm loving all my Cubbies…especially one Mr. Geovany Soto!
The best way to shut up the media about a strikeout streak is TWO three-run homers in the same game. The ESPN yokels predicted that we wouldn't be seeing any taters this evening with the wind blowing in but Soto begged to differ as …
…Great to see Geo in full glory while watching Kendall on the Brewers be…well, Kendall. Everybody got some action today in this beautiful 19-5 game as our comfortable lead allowed Lou to give the everyday studs some rest and let the bench boys have some fun. Great pitching and great hitting today as the Cubbies just kept piling on the hurt. Keep it coming guys! (At least through Sunday…pretty, pretty please? Cherries on top?)
I can't say enough about Len and Bob and what a joy they are for my ears, especially as I'm forced to flip channels between ESPN and FSN Wisconsin for this game. ESPN spent the entire 2nd inning talking about the Yankees and couldn't make it clearer that they could care less about either team of the NL Central. FSN Wisconsin damn near put me to sleep and could learn a little respect for the other team from Len and Bob. (I'm sure that's asking wayyy too much.) But if you've got to listen to the rival's feed, best to do it on a day when we're pulverizing them! They did have a *heartwarming* Mike Cameron interview at the beginning of the game where - I kid you not - he played the pity card on his suspension as though he was coming back from an injury, working his way up from the minors. He couldn't have been more insulting to the hardworking minor-leaguers. Don't take my word for it though, feel free to read this ESPN article about this poor, poor man's persecution. That reminds me, someone should consider drug testing ESPN for amphetamines as their hyped-up, manic graphic overload could trigger epileptic seizures.
Tomorrow's fun: Big Z! Fon-Z! Yippee!!!
